MobiPlus Project (2006 to 2009):

The MobiPlus project is the continuation of the SUAB project. It was launched in 2006 by the SMTC of Clermont-Ferrand, the LIMOS and an industrial. The objective of this project was to developped the prototype of a platform to improve the accessibility of buses for people with reduced mobility (PMR).

The developed platform consists of two subsystems connected thru a wireless network (see Fig. 1). The first subsystem is installed on the bus dock: it consists of a RFID reader and a wireless device. The second is installed in the bus: it consists of a screen and an wireless device equipped with a GPS. The operating principle of this platform is simple: PMR are equipped with an RFID badge. When a PMR is present on the dock, it is detected by the dock subsystem that informs the bus driver thru the wireless link.

The platform was developed by the SMIR group. It has been tested on several bus stops in Clermont-Ferrand (see img. 2).
